Cal Xerta és una casa rural situada a Montbrió del Camp, al bell mig de la plana del Camp de Tarragona. És un espai rural, rehabilitada l’any 1983, caracteritzada per un espai elegant, fàcilment apreciable en cadascun dels detalls que ofereix la casa. Cal Xerta està indicada per un públic familiar, que vol gaudir d’un entorn idílic amb els seus on hi preval la tranquil·litat i la diversió en un entorn rural.

Cal Xerta, rural and family house
Cal Xerta is located in the town of Montbrió del Camp. It belongs to the region of Baix Camp, in the southern lands of Catalonia and is located in the middle of the plain of the Camp de Tarragona.
About 6 km from the Mediterranean coast, and about 5 km away of the Catalan pre-coastal mountain range, the urban nucleus, with approximately 2500 inhabitants, is at an altitude of 130 meters above the sea level. Riudecanyes, Ánima Blanca and Alforja streams cross the municipal term from the mountains to the sea.
Enjoy a temperate climate, typically Mediterranean, with mild winters and summers, and sunny bright days.
The most characteristic meteorological phenomenon is the wind of the northwest, which is called “serene” here, which cleans the atmosphere until it leaves it with a very intense pure blue without any kind of pollution. The traditional economy is based on a rich irrigated and dry agriculture.
The main crops are, in the case of the dry land: the olive tree, the vineyard, the almond trees and the carob trees and, in the irrigated area: hazelnuts, peaches, vegetables and other fruit trees. We emphasize the quality of virgin olive oil, with the “Siurana origin” denomination, as well as the renowned muscatel of Montbrió, which is extracted from the strains of this variety.

The house
Cal Xerta is a house dated in 1900, renovated and enlarged in 1983. It is an elegant place, easily appreciated in every single detail that the house offers. It is ideal for guests that value elegance along with the tranquility and comfort of the rural world.

Inner courtyard. Every corner makes it unique and exclusive due to its delicate decoration.

Spacious car park with places for two vehicles. You can access there from inside the house.

Each room has large wall cabinets.
From one of the rooms, you access to a large terrace where there is a laundry room with a washing machine available. The terrace is spacious for dinner or lunch or just drink a soda or also to smoke a cigarette (we let you know that smoking is not allowed inside the house).
From this terrace we access an inner courtyard. Every corner makes it unique and exclusive due to its delicate decoration
From this inner courtyard, we can access to another rustic House. The owner calls it “the cottage of grandma Cisqueta”, a place build up with stone and wooden beams, dating from the year 1900.

The cabin is a very cozy and charmy place, where the fireplace is the main attraction.
In ancient times, the ancestors of the house kept the grain, the bread, the hazelnuts, the almonds…
In the cabin you can enjoy some fresh toast salads with the well-known Montbrió oil, renowned with Denomination of origin. The owner will let you taste it.
All the elements in the cabin are closely linked with the peasantry world and used by the ancestors of the house. If you want to enjoy few days of peace and tranquility, this space provides it.
